I. What Is An Auto Blog?

“Auto blog” is a term for a Wordpress blog which updates automatically with new content. That means that you won’t have to spend time writing articles, making videos or anything like that. Once you’ve set up your auto blog correctly it will literally run itself without any further input from you. Just think - you’ll even be making money while you sleep!

During the course of this book I will not only teach you how to set up, monetize and promote your auto blog, I will also give you a great topic to cover for absolutely free.

The niche we will be using is HYPNOSIS. “Why hypnosis?” you might ask. Well that is the field I know best and that means I can provide high quality, free content for you. The beauty of hypnosis as a niche is that it’s a very interesting subject with plenty of ways for you to make money. People are very happy to spend money on self improvement and that’s money you could be making for yourself.

Where Does The Content Come From?

The content we will be using comes from a variety of hypnosis related websites with full RSS feeds. An RSS feed syndicates content which means as when is posted to the owner’s website(s) it will appear on your auto blog shortly after.

You need not worry about copyright infringement because all the RSS feeds we will be using come from websites I personally run and I give you permission to use. The content itself is either written by me or taken with permission from free article directories or press releases.

Because I run these sites and make my living off them I can personally guarantee you at least one update everyday so your site will stay fresh and relevant with the minimum of effort from you.

Before we begin though there are three things you will need.

II. What You Will Need

The first thing you need is a place to host your auto blog. This is the place where all the files for your auto blog are kept. You want somewhere reliable, easy to use and inexpensive. I’ve installed auto blogs on a number of different web hosts and I’ve found that for this purpose HostGator is the best web host to use. Another great thing about HostGator is that you can cancel your account at anytime. So if your auto blog simply isn’t working out you can cancel your hosting account and pay no more money, this is unlike most hosts who make you pay for hosting in yearly blocks.

a. Hosting

This is the main page. To get your hosting account click the big grey Sign Up Now button.

You will then be asked a question. I have included the question below and how you should answer.

1. Select Your Type of Hosting Shared Hosting

Next you will be asked to choose a domain name. A domain name is just the name of your website. Since we will be promoting hypnosis it is a good idea to include hypnosis in the title. Because there are so many websites and blogs the most obvious domains such as hypnosis.com are taken.

One way to get around this is add your surname into the domain. For example Rhodes-Hypnosis.com. If you cannot get [YOUR SURNAME]-hypnosis.com or hypnosis-[YOUR SURNAME]-.com try using words related to hypnosis such as hypnotism, or hypnotherapy. It’s important to get one of these terms into your domain name as search engines will then know what your blog is about and rank it accordingly. This means more visitors which in turn means more money.

At the time of writing it costs $15 to register a domain for a year. You will then be asked what hosting package you desire. For this choose Hatchling. This is the smallest, most affordable package ($8.95 as of 01/04/2010) and should be ample for your blogs needs.

The next option you are given is to choose your billing cycle. I recommend choosing monthly to begin with, even though it is slightly more expensive it gives you the freedom to cancel at anytime just in case your auto blog doesn’t work out. This is a low risk venture. After you’ve paid for hosting there is nothing else you need to pay for.

When you have entered this information this should be the next screen you see.

Assuming this is your first blog or website on HostGator choose the “I am a new customer” option. Then click continue.

The next screen is where you fill in your payment details. You only have to fill in the details with a red star * next to them. You will also be asked to choose a username and password. It is a good idea to write these down as you will need them to log into admin section later on.

Congratulations! You now have the proper hosting and domain for your money making auto blog. You should receive an email and further details of your hosting from HostGator.

b. PayPal Account

If you already have a PayPal account you don’t need to read this section. If you don’t let me explain what PayPal is and why you need it.

The following is taken from the PayPal website.

What is PayPal and How Does It Work?

PayPal is a safer, simpler way to send and receive money online.

You can pay for items you buy on eBay as well as on hundreds of other leading retail websites, or you can use PayPal to send money quickly and safely to anyone with an email address.

If you receive a payment through PayPal, you will receive an email notification and the money will be credited to your PayPal account. You can then use your PayPal balance to make payments, or you can withdraw the funds to your bank account.

It’s free to sign up for a PayPal account. Fees charged are based on who you are sending funds to:

Personal payments: Payments to friends or family are free when funded by bank account or PayPal balance. If the payment is funded by credit or debit card then fee is charged to the recipient, however the sender can choose to pay this instead. Please note you must select the ‘Personal’ payment tab within the ‘Send Money’ payment flow to qualify for this rate.

PayPal is available worldwide and in all major currencies.

Why You Need PayPal

You will need a PayPal account to receive money from affiliates. Affiliates are hypnosis websites and products that you promote on your auto blog, whenever you refer a sale to them you then receive a certain percentage.

The affiliate we will be using are HypnoBusters. They are a company I work with and they offer the biggest percentage you will find for an affiliate - 50%. That means more money in your pocket. HypnoBusters pay their affiliates through PayPal which is why you’ll need a PayPal account. HypnoBusters also runs the network you will be receiving your free automatic content from so it makes sense to use them as an affiliate.

To begin with go to http://www.paypal.com

The first thing you need to do here is click the golden “Sign Up” button on the left hand side of the website.

This will take you to the next page where you will need to enter your country of residence and then choose the type of PayPal account you require. For your purposes it is best to pick the Personal account so you can have money sent to you.

Next you will need enter your relevant details and then click “Agree and Create Account”. Note that you will be logging into PayPal using the email address and password you gave them.

Once you have a PayPal account you have to add a bank account so money can be transferred from your PayPal account to your bank. You do this by clicking the “My Account” tab and then clicking roll over “Profile” underneath. A drop down menu should appear which says “Add or Remove Bank Account”. Click this and follow the on screen instructions to add your bank account and be fully eligible for affiliate payments.

You now have a fully functioning PayPal account.

c. AdSense Account

NOTE: Google will only accept your application once you have your blog up and running so you might want to come back to this later.

AdSense is a program run by Google that offers web publishers (such as you) the opportunity to run their advertisers ads in exchange for payment every time a visitor clicks on one of the adverts you are running. There are many companies that offer a similar service but Google AdSense is the best run and usually pays the best. You know that Google is a brand you can trust.

The first thing you need to do is click the grey “Sign up now” button within the blue box on the right hand side.

You will then be asked to fill in your website, contact and payment details.

Once you have completed this form successfully you be taken to a page confirming your entered details. On this page you will also be asked “Which best describes you?”. The answer you want to give is the bottom one - “I do not use these other services. I would like to create a new Google Account.”

You will then be asked to provide and email address and password for your new Google AdSense account. Keep these safe as you will need them to log into your AdSense account.

When you have finished click Continue and your application will be sent to Google. They will typically get back to you within two or three days letting you know whether or not they have accepted your application.

I will be showing you how to make use of your Google AdSense account later in this guide.

d. Affiliate Accounts

Affiliate accounts are another way to make money with your hypnosis auto blog. The way you make money here is by promoting a product, then for every customer that clicks the advert you then make a certain percentage of the sale.

There are many hypnosis websites and promote but two that you should definitely promote are HypnoBusters and the Underground Hypnosis Course. Each offer a 50% commission and provide a great product. For now all you need to do is sign-up and I will later show you how to include your affiliate adverts on your auto blog.

HypnoBusters

HypnoBusters are easy to sign up to and have a high conversion rate. You will typically make around $5 for each MP3 sold, and customers often buy multiple MP3s. They have a great conversion rate and allow you to use their graphics and ad copy to sell their products, unlike most other hypnosis sites.

To begin with you need to register by entering your email address and a password. When you have submitted these details you should leave this page open and go and open your email where you will have been an activation code.

Enter your activation code on the same page you signed up on.

You will then be asked to enter your login email and password and also your name and PayPal email. You can also enter your website address but this is not required. This is so you can be paid by HypnoBusters for the sales you make. They typically pay in the first week of the month.

Next you need to click Get Affiliate Code.

You will then come to this page. Again click the orange button that says Get Affiliate Code.

Here you will see your hop link. You only need the part I have highlighted below. This is the web address in the first set of inverted commas. For example my hop link would be - https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?cl=25036&c=ib&aff=100367

Copy and paste your own hop link into a word/notepad file as you will be needing this later.

Underground Hypnosis

Underground Hypnosis is an online course that teaches the customer covert hypnosis. This is a method of becoming more persuasive which is obviously very desirable for many. Each sale will net you $55, that’s a 50% commission.

It is worth noting before you sign up that your username will become part of your affiliate link so it might be a good idea to include the word hypnosis in your username.

Once you have completed the sign up procedure you are ready to be an affiliate of Underground Hypnosis. To create your affiliate/hop link take the address below and replace the z’s with your username. Save this in the same file as your HypnoBusters code for later.
